Founded by the Atherton family in 1960, the first Sandy Point Restaurant was a casual place known for its home-cooked dishes. After the restaurant suffered fire damage in 1975, the Athertons reinvented it on a different plot of land that was once a resort. The busy restaurant became a hotspot for great food and live performances. Had a solid dinner on the screened in porch here. Beet salad with hanger steak was delish, but a bit heavy on the dressing. I'd maybe get it on the side. Our toddler loved the mussels.
