Founded by the Athertons in 1960, the original Sandy Point Restaurant was a drive-in place beloved for its home-cooked meals. After the building suffered fire damage in 1975, the Athertons reopened it on a new plot of land that was previously a resort. The dynamic restaurant became a hub for fantastic food and entertainment. Had a solid dinner on the screened in porch here. Beet salad with hanger steak was delish, but a bit heavy on the dressing. I'd maybe get it on the side. Our toddler loved the mussels.
